Gary City Hall
Gary City Hall – Restoring a Historic Landmark
Gary City Hall stands as a testament to the city’s rich history, embodying the ambition and optimism of its industrial boom. Originally designed by renowned architect George W. Maher in the Prairie style, the project transitioned to a Neoclassical design under the direction of his son, Philip Brooks Maher, after Maher’s passing in 1926. Completed in 1927, this iconic structure remains a key feature of Gary’s early 20th-century development.
